Best Overlanding Videos on YouTube

Some overlanding YouTube videos accomplish multiple objectives. It all depends on the video’s purpose. Sometimes the video is meant to teach the viewer a particular concept. Sometimes the video is meant to entertain the viewer. The best overlanding videos accomplish two main objectives.

  1. They inform
  2. They inspire

I was initially captivated and inspired to try overlanding because of watching YouTube videos. I would like to share with you a few of the YouTube channels that I think produce the best overlanding videos. My hope is that you share in the same inspiration and it helps inform your decisions at the same time.

Oh and by the way, if you’re more interested in reading blogs then check out my last post, Overland Blogs, 5 That Inspire.

Best Overlanding Videos

Again, I won’t dive into any additional exposition. Here are the channels that I think are worth your time.

I have a special affinity for this channel because of the family focus. You can also check out the post I wrote on their blog by clicking on this link, Lifestyle Overland.

4. 4xOverland

Going outside the US mainland and heading to Africa, 4xOverland is an amazing channel that truly exemplifies the true meaning of overlanding. Incredible videos all over Africa and more, they take us through place we might only ever dream of seeing.  Also, a great mix of Vlogs, Trail Series and Product Reviews. Great production quality and very enjoyable to watch.

5. ExpeditionOverland

Coming back around the world and landing in the US again, Clay and his crew are largely responsible for my new infatuation with overlanding. The following is a quote right from their Youtube channel, “Expedition Overland is a reality based web series that follows our crew of overlanders and our outfitted vehicles through some of the most-remote places of the world. The desire for exploration and adventure is at the heart of this series.”

  • Number of Subs: >110,000
  • Number of Videos: 110+
  • Cool Factor: Overlanding done the American way!

My Final Thought

Do you need a camera to get your own channel started? I just picked up the GoPro Hero Session! I plan to use this little camera to start recording my trips to the back country. Do you have a favorite?

There are so many other good YouTube channels out there on overlanding. This is just a sample of my favorites! If you have some favorites that didn’t make my list please share them with me in the comments below. Happy viewing!
